Confusions
Confusions was chosen as the first of two shows to celebrate Estuary's 40th anniversary. The other was The Roses of Eyam, which the company performed in its early years. For Confusions we chose four of the five one act plays which make up this typically Ayckbourn piece of theatre. Although each play is self-contained, characters spill from one to the other, playing different roles. Sometimes, as in Mother Figure and Drinking Companions, one play explains the other - we see the mother driven to distraction in one play, and her would-be philandering husband in another. The Waiter, who appears in two plays, is possibly the funniest silent character in any modern play!
